Founded in 2016, Kitab Sawti began initially as a project designed to help Syrian refugees in Swedish schools. Today, Kitab Sawti is the world’s largest Arabic audiobooks library. Through a user-friendly smart-phone app, we grant Arabic speakers access to bestselling and award-winning titles in an audio format. With their headphones on, our users are able to travel to a parallel universe; in a moment of entertainment, acquiring knowledge at only one finger-press away. We believe in the power of stories that change lives, words that inspire, and literature that builds bridges between cultures and generations. By unleashing this power in a new format to a growing audience, the potential of every book in our library is completely transformed.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Based in Dubai office, as a Copywriter you’re working with the rest of the Marketing team to make sure that we attract users and optimize their life time value. You have sharp writing skills and the ability to communicate a compelling brand narrative across our entire, multi-touchpoint user experience, from overarching brand messaging to advertising, digital platforms, and core product. Our ideal candidate sees language as an integral part of great design and love collaborating closely with designers, product owners, and marketers to produce work that all hangs together. You know how to turn strategy into storytelling and blend it throughout functional product copy, caring about the big picture as well as the smallest details. The role includes a variety of writing, including developing voice and tone guidelines, composing short- and long-form copy, brainstorming campaign concepts, crafting taglines, composing brand manifestos, and fine-tuning in-app messaging. The position reports to the CMO.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Craft emails, social media and blog posts, video scripts, ads, printed material, presentations, and more to inspire a new generation of thinkers with the power of spoken audio.
  • Tell stories that highlight that we are an innovative digital platform providing highly-
    curated Arabic spoken audio content, including both knowledge and entertaining for the new generation of re-thinkers.
  • Support the foundation of our brand strategy by developing messages tailored to different personas, segments, geographies, at different stages of the funnel.
  • Generate ideas for what we should create.
  • Define, author, and iterate on our tone and style that supports accurate and consistent brand implementation.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent Arabic writing and speaking.
  • Fluent in English is an essential.
  • Ability to grasp technical product capabilities and translate them into benefits.
  • Proven track record of prioritizing high impact activities and keeping complicated projects moving forward, working with cross-functional teams.
  • It’s a big plus if you have experience with video and visual design.
  • Knowledge of growth marketing strategies, processes, and best practices.
  • Start-up or an international top-tier company experience, preferably with an online subscription-based business model.
  • A strong understanding of the startup mentality.
  • A passion for producing high-quality work.
  • Capacity to work on several projects concurrently.
  • A university degree in Marketing, Journalism or related writing field with proven academic excellence.
